CENTRAL Coast cricketers Aaron Alley and Jason Ditton remain in contention for higher representative honours after impressive early performances at the Australian Country Cricket Championships in Mount Gambier this week.
Opener Alley top-scored for the Bush Blues with 61 in their opening match against Victoria. Fast bowler Ditton conceded just 17 runs in 11 overs.
Victoria won by two wickets after bowling NSW out for 242.
Alley again performed well in a subsequent loss to South Australia, making 74 not out in the second innings. NSW had been bowled out for 134 in their first innings and were 2-213 in their second dig after South Australia posted 180 in their first innings.
Alley and Ditton failed to make an impression yesterday as NSW moved into a strong position in their match against Western Australia, despite being dismissed for 172.
Western Australia were 8-72 in reply.
Alley and Ditton play for The Entrance.
